Many tents are raised all over tbe pabllo square, flags are floating In tbe breeze, bands playing, horses prancing, while a vast multitude of men, women and.chlldren are parading tbe streets taking In tbe wonderful sights to be seen on every side. Tbe public square Is turned Into a veritable "show ground* with tbe great "lerrls wheel" in ine center wdicq is ruuoiug on iuu umo and attracting much attention. Oar stores are on "full dress parade," displaying In a most artistic and attractive manner their great variety of beautiful goods. If yon bave read tbe city papers you are posted and will make no mistake as to wbere "bargains" are offered. When weary and tired roaming about tbe city, just drop into a store and while resting do your shopping. Tbe Abbeville merchants carry this season unusually large and attractive Btooks wbioh are oflered at prices that defy competition. Tbornton and family. Mrs. Walter Wilson 1b yet quite sick. Her many friends hope she will soon be well again. Mrs. Maggie Sberard spent a day or two of last week visiting friends at Wllllngton. Mrs. J. L. Kennedy, of Bellvue^jspent last Saturday with her daughter, Mrs. Edwin Par ker. Mr. John Evans, of Clemson, visited relatives at Lebanon last week. Mr. Hiram W.
