That In What the ProblbltloulstH Would Turn Loose. Yorkvllie Yeoman. The Abbeville Press and Banner sneaks a parable when U says tbat nnder Prohibition the Ktate would be flooded with liquor. The majority of the people lu York county townB and In the country know bow it Is and has been?say one thing; and do another; publish to the world that this is prohibition territory and then?well, the balance is too well-known to need repeating. The express records of jug, keg and case shipments bear testimony to actual facts, and It is known of all men ibat only a part of the Dolson gets in in this manner, the larger part of it coming In disguise J, or in clandestlhe ways by private conveyance. Many pious souls tbat would he unmoved by the arrival of two hundred and fifty gallons a month In Jug and keg In small instalments of from one to five gallons, would be paralyzed with horror should the announcement be made that the same number of gallons had arrived at the same depot in the same length of time in oak barrels. It seems to he a case where it matters not so much what is done as how It Is done. J. 11. UlClin x iiivnin. Pure Gu. Cane andN. O. V We oeed a good footway from Port Pickens, J and we need to have more work done on the % new street wblch leads from the branch to tne J churches and the school house by way of the v oil mi)l. Js Since the increased business on the South- v ern railway has made it Deoessary to run so J many trains, there are few hoars in ttoe day V that trains and engines and cars are not pass- * ing over the high embankment, tbns en- V dangerlng the llveB of those citizens of Fort ? One of tbe most notable Improvements of "g tbe town is to be seen on tbe street leading to 5= the cotton mill, which has been extended ?j along tbe front of tbe cotton mill property. The work of making a sidewalk at tbe bead of the big galley was made entirely by filling tbe galley along tbe narrow road, which bad been rendered almost lm passable because of tbe encoucbments of tbe gulley. But tbe best Job at least cost, was tbe sidewalk whiob enables' tbe pedestrian to cross Mi the track of tbe Seaboard Air Line railroad.
