President McKinley in blB message pledges
hie party to fighting trusts.
Congress Is making arrangements to fasten
Irrevocably the gold standard on this country.
If botb of these acts are not a downright
shame we would like to know what tbey are.
Mr. Bryan has been for years lihgting for free
silver, and more recently be bas added oppo,
sltion to trusts as one of his planks.
If tbe Republicans fasten tbe gold standard '
on tbe country, and then steal Air. Bryan's
"anti-trust" plank, Mr. Bryan will have to !
tart over in tbe Presidential campaign.
Republicans are always robbing Democrats ]
