Skctiox 1. Be it enacted by the Senate
and House of Representatives of the
Slate of South Carolina, now met and
sitting in General Asetinbly, and by the
authority of the same, It shall be the
duty of the Attorney General, the Comptroller
General, and by the Secretary *o
State, conjointly, to designate, by public
notice [in] one or more newspapers
In this State, in which all legal notices,
advertisements, or publications for the
State, of any and every character required
by law to be made public, shall be
published; and said Attorney General,
Comptroller General, and Secretary 01
State, shall have power lo make such
changes and new designations, from
time to time, as they may judge that
the public interest requires.
Sue. 2. Ail State and County Officers,
aud other pereons are hereby required
to furnish to the newspapers designated
