Section 1. Be it enacted by the Sen
ite and House of Representatives of the
itate'of South Carolina, now met and
ittingin General Assembly, and by the

roller General, and by the Secretary o*

in this State, in which all legal notices,

State, of any and every character- requir
ed by law to be made public, shall be
published; and said Attorney General,
Comptroller General, and Secretary of

time to time, as they may judge that
the public interest requires.
Sac. 2. Ail State and County Officers,
and other persons are hereby required
to furnish to the newspapers designateP

representative counties, for publication,
all legal notices, advertisements and
publications, of any and every character
required by law to be made public; and
no legal notice, advertisement or publi
cation required by law to be made pub
lic shall have any valid force or effect
unless published in the newspapers des
ignated under this Act; and no publi
cation, of any character in any newspa
per not designated under this Act, shall
be paid for from tlio funds of this State,
or of any. County: Provided, That the
said officers mentioned in Section one
shall have power, in cases requiring un
usual publicity, to order publication in
such newspapers, in addition to those
designated under this Act, as by and
with the advice of the Governor they
may select; and bills so incurred shall
be audited and paid in the usual mau
ner.
Sec. 3. All A.cts and parts of Acts in
consistent herewith are hereby repealed.
S*:c. 4. This Act shall take effect from
and after passage. [Jan. 22,3872.
