Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met audi sitting in General Assembly, and by j tbe authority of the same: Section 1. That the jurisdiction of the i State of South Carolina is hereby . ccded to the United States of America i over so much land as may be con voyed to the Bnid United States in the foregoing specified manner for light house purposes: Provided, That such jurisdiction is granted upon the ex press condition that the State of South Carolina shall retain a concurrent ju risdiction with the United States in and over said lands, so far as that civ il process, in ail cases not affecting the real or personal property of the Uni ted States, and such criminal or other procoss as shall issue under the au thority of the State of South Caroli na, against any person or persons charged with crimes or misdemean ors, committed within or without the limits of the said lands, may be exe cuted therein, in the same way and manner as if oo jurisdiction bad been hereby ceded.
