The following is a correct statement of
Cotton raised by Stevens & Cureton, 01;
J acres of stu bble land, which was man -
ured with 400 lbs. Carolina Fertilizer.
The following is the mode of cultivation:
It was thoroughly broken up 12 inches
deep, and lt\id oft in rows 3$ feet wide,
and the Fertilizer applied in the drill,
then bedded on it on the 15th of May,
and planted the same day, but owing to
the cool and dry weather* did not corut|
up to a stand until about the 1st of June.
First working it was run around with a
half shovel and partially trimmed out
with a hoe. Second working it was run
around with a 3 inch grub, 12 inches
long, and the middles thrown out with a
sweep 17 inches wide. One furrow to a
row and thinned to a stand with a hoe
about 12 inches wide, and hoed each
time, until it was worked five tlmgs.

That which protects from or prevents thla' dis

munities where it prevails. Prevention is better
than cure, for the patient escapes tho risk which
he must run in violent attack* of this baleful dis*
temper. This "Cure" expels the miasmatic
poison of Kkver and Ague from the system,
and prevents tho development of the disease, ir
taken on tho first approach of its premonitory
symptoms. It is not only tho best remedy ever
yet discovered for this class of complaints, but
also tho cheapest. Tho large quantity we sup
ply for a dollar brings it within the reach of
everybody; and in bilious -districts, where
Fevek amd ague prevails, everybody should
have it, and use it freely, both for cure and pro
tection. It is hoped this price will place it within
the reach of all?the poor as well an the rich.
A great superiority or this remedy over any
other ever discovered for the speedy and certain
eurooflntormittonts is, that it contains no Qui- .
nine or mineral; consequently it produces no
ouinism or other injurious effects whatever upon

Fever and Aijue is not alone tho consequence
of the miasmatic, poison. A great variety of dis
orders arise from its irritation, among which
arc Neuralgia, Rheumatism, Gout, Headache,
Blindness, Toothache, Earache, Catarrh, Asth
ma, Palpitation, Painlul Affcction of the Spleen,
Hysterics, Pain in the Bowels, Colic, Paralysis,
arid derangement of the Stomach, all of which,
when originating in this cause, put on the in
termittent type, or becomc periodical. This

consequently cures them all alike. It is an in
valuable protection to immigrants and persons
travelling or temporarily residing in the mala
