The liberal patronage which the subscri
ber has received hitherto has rendered his la
bours so arduous that he has long desired to
associate with him a gentlemau ofhijh char
acter well qualified iu every branch of the
profession. For want of one he has beeu
prevented from attending to the insertion of
artificial teeth as extensively as he could
have desired, having been mostly occupied
io those operations necessary to preserve the
teeth. Dr. Avery, with whbi-n he has now
become associated, is a gentleman of charac
ter, both moral and professional, and brings
with hira a well earned reputation gained by
iong experience. Mis operations in filling
teeth, as well as the insertion ofartifieiaLteeth,
t, are neat, tasty, and substantial. In him
the utmost confidence may be reposed. With
bone but a gentleman of such character
could he think of associating himself, and
none but such could he be induced to recom
mend to this enlightened community.
They are now prepared , to manufacture
1 the artificial teeth to suit the most difficult
cases, and insert them in cases of from a sin
gle tooth to entire sets. They hazard noth
ing iu saying that they cannot be surpassed
;4d elegance and durability in the world.
Dentists can be supplied with teeth of the
latest improvements, and of the most exquis
ite imitations of the living tooth, and the other
materials used iu the practice of Dentistry.

getable Anti-Billious Pills," when purchased at hi*
principal office, 129. Liberty Street N.Y. he feels
called upon to make a public statesment of his ar
rangement in relation to this matter.
From this date the cash price will be Thirty-six
Dollars per gross, payable in bills current in the city
of New York; and no quantity under a gross, will on
any pretence, be sold under retail price of Fifty
Cents a box.
Merchants ordering these Pills from the proprietor,
or New York Druggists, on time, will be charged
Four Dollars per dozen.
The proprietor requests particular attention to this

The unprecedented success of this iredcine for
the cure of fevers in various parts of the United
States, would seem to preclude the necessity of a

The increasing prevalence and ruirfbiis effects tff

No means seem more wisely adapted to accomplfstii
their purpose, than such a dissemination effects ana
statements upon the subject as wouhl be effecf&l by*
such a publication. The .labours^ expenenice and
investigation of the friends of Temperance- iir the
Northern States, have accumulated treasures of
knowledge and arguments in this cause. But these
valuable materials arc excluded from our community,
by their being mir.gled with speculations hostile to
our domestic institutions. The only way' therefore,
in which the interesting details and powerful reason
ings, contained in the Temperance publications.of
the north, can be given to the public here, is through
the columns of the proposed paper. It is thus mani
fest that the best interests of our State, add the pro
gress of the Temperance Reformation so vitally im
portant to public safety and happi n ess, will J>e triost
effectually promoted by a general circulation of the

The following plan will regulate the publication. It

II. Copious extracts from Books, Pamphlets and

As the friends of Temperance, the'expefted patrons
of this Paper, belong to different political parties and
religious denominations, all discussions of a contro
versial orsecturian character, both as to politics and
religion, will be scrupulously excluded. _
The general design of the publication is to furnish
every family in the State, desirous of obtaining it,
with full information and authentic documents as to
the direful;evils of Intemperance, and the necessity
of Reformation
As the commencement of such a Publication can.
only be warranted by a large subscription, a strong
appeal is made to the officers of Temperance Socie
ties, and the friends of the cause to whom this Pros
pectus may~ be sent, to use prompt and active exer
tions to obtain as many subscribers as possible.
