cur paper to an account ot the hi ctirc in Darlington
village, whereby some forty buildings
were destroyed.
Just as we go to press we are informed by a
gentleman who has arrived from Darlington
District that ou Saturday night last the Nortkern
portion of the village, which was left re
maining at (he late fire, was destroyed. This
fire originated by nccidcut ; a young man was
drawing kerosene oil, and was using a candle,
when the oil took tire, and caused n general
conflagration. Our informant says every business
house in the place, with a number of
