Re it ordained by the Council of Spartanburg
now in session, and by authority of the eamt
That any slave or h'uv. s that may he seen iu th
Town of Spartanhuijt. on the Sabbath,proving t<
sell, without a written permit, any poultry, cjrg?
fruit of any dwoription,or any of the products of tie
farm or poultry yard, heretofore intei dieted; or i
said slave or slaves, in order to avoid the effect of tlii
and the preceding ordinances, shall sell to a fellow
servant, residing in town, such articles of coinmum
as are herein prohibited, shall he apprehended b;
the marshal, lodged in jail, and there confined un
til his or her master shall release them by the pay
men I of tlio costs and otlior expenses incurred it
doing so: Provided. Such release is mad? by 1<
o'clock on tho first Monday following
Be it further ordained, That the slave or sluvei
