Intelligencer speaks of a resolution
having been introduced in the U. S. Senate

It is stated that out of forty documents
mailed by members to somo of the
Southern Slates, not more than three have
been received at their destination; and fo
seeds sent from tho Patont Office under frank,
most of them have been lost or abstracted.
Complaints have been made by the publisher
of an illustrated work that his copies
have been so often lost as to require him to
send his embellished numbers by express,
whilst plain works never (ailed to be trans'
milted safely. Hie evil isovidently the tesult
of a want of fidelity or t'je part of
subordinate agents somewhere.
