* The theory of the cure by Dr. Scbenek's modicinea
ia aa aimple aa it u unfailing. Ita phi|
loaophy requires no argument. It la ael(-aa?
auring, self-convincing.
8- The Seawood Touic and Mandrake Pill# are
'P? the first two weapona with which the citadel
i?. of the malady la assailed. Two-tliirds of the
Id caaea of consumption originate ia dyspepsia
and a functionally disordered liver. With this
to condition the bronchial tubes " sympathise "
fi. with the stomach. Tbcy respond to the morbific
action of theJiver. Here th?a*omes the
tr culminating result, and the aettlng in, with all
nf ita distressing symptoms, of
CONSUMPTION,

u" The work of cure is now beginning. The
vitiated and mucous deposits in the bowels
and in the alimentary canal are ejected. The
_ liver, like a clock, is wound np. It nrouse#
Id ^roD> torpidity. The stomach acta respon.

A SUPPLY OF GOOD BLOOD.
Jj The Seawood Tonle, in eonjnnotien with the

Chyliflcation is now progressing without ita
, | previous tortures. Digestion becomes painless,
and th? euro ia seen to bo at bond. There ia
ol no more flatulence, no exacerbation of the atonaach.
An appetite aela in.
Now eomta the greatest Blood Purifier ever
yet given by an indulgent father to suffering
man. 8chenck'a Pulmonic Syrup comes in to
^_ perform ita functions and to hasten and complete
the cure. It enters at once rpon its
work. Nature cannot be cheated. It collects
v and ripena the impaired and diseased portiona
|,e of the lunga. In the form of gatherings, it
,| prepares them for expectoration, and lo ! in a
,{1 veiy abort time the malady is vanquished, the
lt> rotten throne that it occupied is renovated and
y made new, and the patient, in all the dignity
of regained vigor, stepa forth te enjoy the man'**'

GIVEN UP AS LOST.
r*
if The second thing ia, the patients must stay
I,, in a warm room until they get well; it ia aU
l,e most impossible to prevent taking cold when
the lungs are diseased, but it must be preven"
ted or a cure cannot be effected. Freah air
*' and riding eut, especially in this aection of
the country in the fall and winter season, are
all wrong. Physicians who recommend that
course lose tboir patients, if Ibeir lungs are
, badly diseased, and yet, because they are in
^ the bonse tbey must not sit down quiet; they
moat walk about the room aa much and aa feat
. aa the strength will hear, to get up a good eirculation
of blood. The patients must keep in
>r' good spirits?be determined to get well. This
bas a great deal to do with the appetite, aad
is the great point to gain,
ur To despair of cure after such evidence of its
od possibility in the wotst eases, and moral cera,
tainty in all others, is sinful. Dr. Scbenck's
e personal stateiasnt to the Faculty of his own
n. cure was in these modest words :
" Many years ago I was in tha last stages of

parationa which I now offer to the public, and
they made a perfect cure oi tne. It aeoined to
ur me that I could feel them penetrate my whole
I"* ayatem. They aoon ripened the matter in my
d. lung*, and I would apit up more than a pint
of offensive yellow matter every morning for
ee a long time.
r* Aa aoon aa that began toeubeide, my cough,
jy fever, pain and night aweata all began to
leava me, and my appetite became ao great
j, that it waa with difficulty that I could keep
from eating too much. I aoon gained my
. atrength, and have grown in fleah ever aince."
" I waa weighed ahortly after my recovery,"
added the Doctor," then looking like a mere
akeleton ; my weight waa only ninety, seven
pounda ; my present weight la two hundred
and twenty-five [226] pounda, and for yeara I
have enjoyed uninterrupted health."

returning health hunger is the myst welcome
symptom. When it comes, aa it will come, let

night sweat is abated. In a abort time both
of these morbid symptoms are gone forever.
