one other Bank Note on the State Bank ot
North-Carolina ior tour dollars ; also eight
Notes of Hand, on -the following persons,
to wit : three Notes of Hand on Elizabeth
Hopkins, the first, for three hundred and
ninety dollars and some ceius, dated some
time in the year 1 a 1 9, the second note for
one hundred and five dollars, dated some
time in the year 1818, the third note, for
one hundred dollars, given sometime 111
the year IB 19, \v ith a credit of sixty five
dollars upon the same, the above three
notes made payable to Jam.es Johnson, (or
order.) Two Notes of hand on John,
Walker, ihe first for torty loin dollars,
given sometime in the year 1820, the se
cond note for thirty dollars, and given
sometime in the year 18 19, both qf the
above iaM mentioned notes also made pay
able to James Johnson (or order;) a note of
hand on Elizabeth English for fifty dollars,
given sometime in July 1820, and made
payable to James Johnson (or order) ; one
note on Joshua English i'or one hundred
and sixty one dollars, given in the first of
the year 1820, and made payable tg Reu
ben C. Dukes (or order;) and also, a note
of hand on William Young for fifty seven
or sixty seven dollars, with a credit on the
s<ime given sometime in the yepr 1819,
and made payable to James Johnson (ov
order;) also sundry Receipts and Beef
.Accounts, a gold Breast Pin marked with
[the letter, M. The above Pocket Book,
[containing the said money* notes, accounts
receipts and breast pin, was lost either in
Camden, or on the road leading to the
Swift Creek mills, as the papers will be of
no service, to any other ^person, than the
subscriber, he earnestly hopes that if any
p>erson has the same,. they would return
them, or give information so that he might
obtain the same ; and all persons ai'^ here
by cautioned not to trade or negociate for
the said Notes, Accounts and Receipts.

cart travelling in company, to inform
them that the brother of the person
they left sick at Petersburg, Vir
ginians now at Fort Hawkins, wait
ing for them, and wishes them to
come on as speedily as possible..
The waggons are new, painted light
blue, covered with tow linen anil
drawn each by four large dark horse*,
mostly bay, led on with lines as
stage horses are ? the cartis covered
with Russia sheeting and drawn by
a remarkably large grey horscf.-?
They areattended by five white men,
iwo women, and Ihttteen negroes of
both sexes, Tl^y are in the habit
of camping out at night with two
tents. They are from Pennsylvania
and going to the French settlement
on tlte Black Warrior, in Alabama.
