market, during the last six weeks,
the produce of ten apple trees for
the almost incredible sum of three
hundred ahd sixty dullais? they
*vere of a species called Summer
llussets ; the quantity fifty barrels.,
These apples grew on ten trees,
which altogether occupy less than
one quarter of an acre of ground.
"When the apples w ere first gathered
last fail they tilled fifty-ihree barrels,
aud on beingpickcd over this spring,
preparatory to sending them to mar
ket, they were reducd to fifty barrels.

The number of Theological
Schools in the empire of ttussia is

i inies, thirty-six seminaries, and
eighteen primary schools, iu which

is no longer room to doubt that the

The old anology, "Excuse my
glove,1 " is no longer necessary. It
is now the fashion; both in New
York and Philadelphia, among all
*hc "genteels," to shake hands with
out taking off the glove. A very
great improvement this in warm wea
ther ? I hope it may be generally a

Money is abundant, (says the Lon-I
don Englishman.) in the principal
commercial cities of Europe. in
Hamburg, for instance, the rate of
interest is from 1 to 1 1-2 per cent. ?
in Frankfort it is 2 per cent, exactly i
? and in Paris it is 3 per cent, in
London tbe discount may be turmed
4 per cent, at present, though it seeius
to be ihiding its level with the rate
on the continent, it having become of
late an extensive branch of commerce
to remit capital to England from those
parts of Europe where the rate of
interest is low, in order to obtain
the superior advantages still held out
by the money market of this country,
a practice which must tend to ap
proximate the price all over Europe
to one staudard.
The Philadelphia Gazette states
on the authority of a gentleman whose

as at the present moment, particular

bridle. Also, at the same lime was stolen,
a Man's SADDLE, tolerable much worn;
very high mounted, beings plated before
and behind, it hab a colored worsted twil
led pad. As a part of ihe above reward 1

Mare to me on the main Camden road lead
ing from Lancaster to Camden neai; the
