Last winter some twenty Lancaster
people, interested in the welfare ofj
the city and feeling the citizens of|
Lancaster and Lancaster county
should be given an opportunity of
attending some real wholesome en-J
tertainment features during the fall
and winter, signed a contract with
the Piedmont Lyceum Association
for five high class attractions, the
first of which will be given at the
Mackey opera house next Thursday
evening. October 5.
Those who guranteed the attractions
were: Miss Juanita Wylie,

C. Brown, B. B. Robinson, J. T.

so feeling it to be for the best interest
of the people. We sincerely trust

The Meistersingers Male Quartet
which is announced by the local Lyceum
committee as the first attrac-|
non to appear on the Lyceum!
course, is one of the very hest enter-j
taining male quartets on the platform.
This quartet has been before the
public for the past ten years and hasl
made glad the hearts of thousands*of |
people during this time. Their pro-1
gram will include vocal solos, duetts
and quartets of both a humorous and
serious nature. The company also!
includes a splendid reader, while the
music rendered by them on the or-1
gan chimes is a novel feature which1
always creates much enthusiasm. It
is said that the organ chimes which
this company carries with them is
the hest in the Lyceum today.

afternoon. After frolics and
games of various kinds, a beautiful
birthday cake bearing seven candles,
