The Christian Kndeavors of the
district composed of York, Lancaster
una riicstcr counties will bold a convention
in York June 15th. This is
the announcement made by J. T.
Fain, one of the vice-presidents of
tlie South Carolina Christain Kndeavor
Union, and superintendent of
I this district. The convention will
hold morning and afternoon sessions
in the First Presbyterian
church in York, and the details of an
instructive program for the occasion 1
are being worked out.
This district has a greater number
of Christian jWndeavor societies
than any other district in the state,
and the convention is expected i<>
bring together Kndeavorers from nil
the societies, as well as a number
of young people from other churches
who are interested in learning something
about Christian Endeavor
movement with a view to organizing
societies in other churches.
Christain Endeavor is an interenominational
movement and societies
are found in the churches of al.
denominations. In the world the
Methodists lead with the larges;
number of societies. In the United
States the Presbyterians have th<
largest number of societies, but tin
Methodists. Baptists, Congregation11
ists and Christians have a larg>
part in the movement, while othc>
denominations are more or less interested.
In tiie south the Presbyterians
have the largest number ol (
societies, but this denomination is
being pushed for first place by tin (
Christian church.

to bring together not only Christian
Kndeavorers of the three counties

his aged father and mother and after
a few days spent with them he got
them i 11 the notion to come to Texas
with him which they did and are now
at his home in Quitman and to say
that we have a happy preacher is
putting it mildly. The father an.l
mother are aged but full of life and
so far they say they are well pleased
with Texas. The father 7k and th

their declining years certainly atvoiv
of pleasure in having given to the
world such men as their son who delights
in honoring them, and in doing
so honors himself.

but no hospital. Are we to continue
to worry along without a single
place in the county where
our people may receive surgical
treatment? The lack of hospital
facilities is trying alike to doctoi
