A very interesting meeting of .lie
Parent-Teacher Association was heid
last Friday afternoon. The feature
of tIlls* meeting was the address by
Dr. J. H. Thayer, pastor of the First
Paptist church, who to use his own
language, "being neither a pareut
nor a teacher" spoke from the standpoint
of the pupil. His address was
full of helpful suggestions. A song
bv a group of school children gave
pleasure .to their elders as did a
recitation given with grace and ?xprission.

The attendance banner was won
again by the first grade, of which

The young men who made up Mr.
ira H. Jones. Jr.'s wedding party, entertained
at dinner Saturday night
at the Jefferson Hotel in Columbia
in honor of Mr. Jones, who is to be
married December 15 to Miss Minnie
t'raig Taylor of Camden. The party
motored to Columbia Saturday afternoon
in Mr. John D. Wylle'a car. and
*pent Saturday night and Sunday in
the Capital City.
The dinner was given in a private
lining room of the Jefferson. Covers
were laid for ten and dinner was
served in seven courses. It was a
most enjoyable affair. The following i
