If so, obey her counsel, be kind to her. Rarely, if ever, will she give wrong advice. She is your best earthly friend. When she has gone, you can never And another to All her place. Live a life that will make her rejoice. Do not go against her wishes. Seek ever to cheer her tender, loving heart. Disobedience to mother is one among the Arst steps to ruin and disgrace. Many a man has Ailed the drunkard's grave because when a boy he disregarded mother's advice. Many a man has lost his life on the hangman's scaffold .because he departed from mother's counsel. Many a man today is shut out from society and freedom behind walls of stone and bars of iron because ho heeded not mother when a boy. Many a bright girl has strayqd deep into sin and disgrace because she failed to give heed to her loving mother's advice. Dear girl and boy, let me repeat, be kind to mother, take her advice today. There is coming a time when you will long for that loving hand - t to sooth your aching brow, but it r*n,,/Sl..reach you. Mother cannot always abide with you. Some day Clod will call her from your presence. Then you will realize the solemn fact, that your best friend has gone. This is a known fact. Once I had a dear loving mother. Or how sweet is the memory. For many long years we journeyed life's pathway together. But alas, this sweet union did not last. One sad October after noon just after the shades of night had fallen, Clod called. We gathered around her bed-side and said goodbye for the last time on earth. It was then I fully realized that my best earthly friend had gone. Boy, girl, if mother is living be kind to her. Cherish that dear heart. Strew flowers along her pathway in life. If you wait to place them on her grave it will not profit. She cannot appreciate your kindness in death's silent sleep. There are many, many heart-broken mothers today weeping as they totter toward the tomb on account of a wayward son or daughter.
