Contest. She was nominated uv
some friend?read what she says:
'I didn't know until today that
anyone had considered me a possibility
in The News' Auto Contest, and
didn't know until a few minutes ago
who it was that cast the first vote
for me: but I am certainly going
after that automobile, for 1 consider
it a most liberal offer. Too late?
Mercy, no! Seems to be that this is
just the right time to get in this
battle. Six days is a mighty short
time, yes. but one can do wonders in
six days."
This was about the substance of
the conversation with this young
lady, and she has the right spirit to
make a good contestant, with all the
nerve and confidence necessary to
win. She did not ask a single question?
did not seem to care how the
race was going?she just seemed to,
consider that she was going to be the
