Mr. Joe Evans, keeper of both the
Presbyterian and the Westsido
cemeteries, asks to request parents
not to allow their ch'ldren to desecrate
these sacred places by gathering
llowers from the graves, as several
children have been doing recently.
This is quite a Berious offence
and one which we hope will
not be repeated.
Much Interest has been manifested
In the "Week of Prayer" at the
First Methodist Church and there
has been a good attendance at service
every afternoon during the first
week. The women of the church
conducted this "Week of Prayer,"
making every service an Interesting
one.
We hope every one of our readers
will give a careful, thoughtful attention

Funderburk, lived for several years
in Lancaster and has many friends in

The legislature at the recent extra
session enacted a law for the reductlo
of the acreage of cotton for
next year. We br.ve serving doubt
about the constitutionality of such
, a law, but at the same time, the
i lawmakers whetbor they had the
right to do so or not, have passed
the law and it is only after all an
effort to make the farmer do what
is In their own interest?they should
do anyway?roduce the amount of
cotton they raise, and at the same
time increase the amount of food
stuffs sralsed So we advise all farmers
to conform to the l.aw and not
plant more than one-third of their
crop in cotton next year. Don't take
up time discussing whether it is a
good law, or a bad law; whether ft
is constitutional or unconstitutional,
but work for your own interest by
cutting down your acreage in cotton
and plant grain this fall and in the
