morning in town and lodged him
In Jail. Starnes is wanted in North
Carolina for stealing * mule and a
buggy last Christmas, four miles
above Monroe. N. C. The negro came
on down Into this state and has been
eluding the officer* ever since. On
Sunday night he stole $10 and IX
pints of liquor near White Bluff and
made for Lancaster. The officers
were on the lookout for him. He <
will be returned to the North Carolina
authorities.
