tory and Why?Patrons
Anxious for a Change.
Mr. Kditor: We note the
confirmation of Postmaster J. F
Hunter's reappointment, which is
ery gratifying to his patron?
and many friends. It must be
especially so to his patrons. We
too have enjoyed the opportunity
and pleasure of knowing the
advantages and conveniences in
a good mail system, coupled

obliging postmaster, that would
ne pleasing to all, and of whom
ail patrons did feel the proudest.
The majority of our patrons
here feel that it in only the tavored
ones who Irnm a kind providence
have inherited the swell
end of tnlluenee and money that
is to be favored with these blessings.
As we don't belong to
that category we must step down
and out, regardless of oui interest
or ,wishes. If there is any- j
thing else in the world that the j
department can give us it will be I
better than what we now have, i
If they feel disposed to take it :
from us altogether, we will not
be hurt much. It is claimed
that Tradesville is ge'tinga daily
mail. Now this is what we get ?
if it is daily we wish to have it
changed: In the afternoon about
lour o'clock our mail carrier passes
'through going toward the
town of Lancaster. He dist:ibutes
the mail and is gone in a;
very few minutes. We may,
and do, have letters that are very
important, sometimes reaching
us behind time, and should be
replied to at that very moment.
W ' '
but we cannot gel this reply otf
until the next day, in which case
it takes it until the following!
night to reach Lancaster.
For instance, if 'he letter
comes in on Monday afternoon
at four o'clock, we get the reply
started Tuesday afternoon at 4jj
it then reaches Lancaster Wednesday
night?three days gelting
a letter Irom this place to
our county seat. How is this
for good treatment and business?
Tradesyille has always enjoyed
a better mail system thannow.
And we feel very much slighted
by this act. 'Ihere are manv
more points ol inconvenience
and dissatisfaction equally as
hurtful to our community as the
above, some of which I shall I
probably point out in some future R
correspondence. For fear of con- I
fcignment fo the waste basket, I K
will close. Steve. I
