Death in North Carolina of
Promising Young Man,
Whose Father was a Native
of this County.
The "last issue of the Monroe
Journal contains the following

The sudden death of Mr. Samuel
R. Williamson, which occurred
on the evening of the 16th
was very sad, since it was that
of a man just entering vigorous
manhood, and came almost without
notice. A week before his
death Mr. Williarusou was one of
the company who presented the
cantata, "Esther,M in the opera
house, and it is said that the
change of clothing which he
made tor the play was the basis
of the disease which resulted
fatally so quickh?pneumonia.
The deceased was a son ot the
late S. R. Williamson, and
would have been 22 years old
the 9th ot next February. He
is survived by his mother. Mrs.
Hettie Williamson, and two
sisters, Mrs. Etta Griffin and
Miss Margie Williamson ; Mr.
Lee Williamson, a half brother;
and two halt sisters, Mesdames ;
S. S. Wolfe and Fred Wolfe. j?
He whs an industrious young
man, well liked by all who knew
him. The funeral was held at
the home on Thursday afternoon
by Rev. Mr. Atkinson, and was I
attended by a large number of I
friends ot the deceased.

Frank Burbank, wife ot an up
tician, died at Watts Hospital I
this morning, her death being
sudden and from heart trouble.
Her husband, who was here j
until last Saturday and went
to Greensboro, is also dea l at
the Beobow Hotel, in ihat city
The story ol the deatli ot her
husband came when a message
was sent to him ot the death ot
his wile here. The clerk stated
that he was in his room and
could not be aroused. A few
minutes later it was com muni
cated here that he also was dead, I
it being supposed that his dealli I
was caused hy an overdose of I
morphine or some drug as he I
doped a great deal.

was a suicide compact as the
wife was getting along nicely
until attacked by heart trouble
and she was talking with her
husband last night at 11 o'clock.
Papers were found in the possession
of the woman which indicate
that her home was at Spring
field, O.
