Cotton Conference's Appeal to Farmers, Bankers and Business Men. New Orleans, La., Not. 14.? With a stirring appeal to every interest in the South?agricultural, financial and commercial ?to co operate in holding cotton for higher prices, the joint conference <ymmittoe of the National Farmers'>Union and financial interests of New Orleans, adjourn ed to-night. The appeal is ad dressed to the people ot the cotton belt and is as follows : "We, the joint committee of the National Farmers1 Union and of}the financial and* commercial interests of New Orleans, realizing that confidence in cotton market conditions has been impaired andthe appreheusion there by engendered has caused more rapid marketing of cotton than has ever been known, and beliering that the lioldiug of cotton at the preseut time will permit the healthy assimilation of temporary superabundance and restore normal conditions under which remunerative prices may be obtained, hereby earnestly appeal to every farmer, merohant and banker and other holders and owners of cotton, to hold back, so far as they can, their present holdings and not Fell unless absolutely compelled to do so, until the price of cotton shall have reached a substantially in oreased figure. "We especially request all merchants atidbankers of the cotton belt to extend the obligation of the cotton grower, when called upon to do so, for a reasonable period, and to do all things in their power to * aid and encourage such ffrowsrs nnrt t.r*lrl_ era of cotton, believing as we do, tliat all the business couditions ot the world, especially of>the cotton world, steadily point toward better prices than we now obtain. "We believe that such concerted and detremined action will logically and iu all probability, increase the present inadequate price paid for cotton." Committees were named to investigate the public warehouse plan which calls for a quasi commisson, appointed by the State of Louisiana to control the operation of a large warehouse to be built on the river front at New Orleans. The proposed warehouse is designed to hold 1,500,600 to 3,000,000 bales of cottonHow Is Your Digestion. Mrs. Mar? Dowling of No. 228 8th Avo.
