pany. His brother, Mr. John

same time from the same institution,
it will be recalled, has a
position in Macon, as published

Miss Sadie Blackmon, the sister,
who graduated with her brothers,
is filling the position of stenou:
rapher and typewriter in the
law oflice here of Mr. J. H. Foster,

through to Cheater Saturday.
The L. & C. is getting along
well with its trestle and emhank- '
tnent work at the river and ex- 1
pects to he able to run trains .
through to Chester next Saturday
morning. As heretofore 1
published, a daily schedule is
now being operated between Lancaster
and Chester, trains going
over the Southern's track to Ca- '
tawba Junction and from there
over the Seaboard to Fort Lawn. 1
The passenger train leaves Lancaster
at 9 o'clock in the morn
ing. and returning from Chester
arrives here about 7 in the afternoon.

Mr. Tom Blackmoa, son of
Mr. J. A. P. Blackmon, of the
Rich Hill section, was severely
hurt, Saturday afternoon while
playing baseball at the cotton
mills, being struck by the ball.
So great was the pain that the
young man fainted shortly af ter
the accident. He was attended
by Dr. Laney, and later in the
evening was taken to his fathers
home in the country.

Mr. Mobley'* Majority.
Mr. G L. Mobley, of Heath
Springs, writes us calling our
attention to an error in his majority
over Mr. Perry for Supervisor
appearing in the oilicial
count published in Saturday's
News. Instead of being 09, Mr.
Mobley says it should be 200.
The additions were not made in
tins oftice, the totals being taken
from the executive committee's
tubulated statement of the vote.
According to that statement Mr.
Moblev's vote in the county is
1210, Mr Perry's 1111, making
the former's majority 99 as published.
Hut, as Mr. Mobley
says, there is clearly an error in
the addition of his vote. The
published figures really make
his total 1317. We find that the
printer, however, made one mistake
in setting up the ofhcial figures
ol the vote at each precinct.
According to the committee's
tabulated statement Mr. Mobley

Mrs. Bookham, wile of Mr.
Phillip Beckham, of the Heath
Springs sec ion, died Sunday,
alter a nron acted illness. She
was a daughter, of Mr. Frank
Williams at d was about 19 years
ol age She was an estimable
lady and leaves a lar^e circle of
relatives and iriends to lament
her untimely end. The remains
were buried Monday at the Bennett
