8 Spread of Bubonic Plague ? -Now Infests the Whole World. Eaget giving a history of the spread ol bubonic plague during the last i - VT _ i.. .1 .. lour yeais. r*o ?iuuy prenviiiM more important and difficult sanitary problems, Dr. Eaget says, than the lines of march taken by bubonic plague during the period mentioned in its advance Irom the remote endemic tocus of the dise ?se in 'tie prov nee o! Yunnan, China, to the numerous countries in all quarters of the jJobe, where, in many instances, it has established itself in defiance of the most carefully planned preventive measures. The revival ot the plague Dr. Daget says, dates from 1894, when, escaping from the western Chinese province of Yunnam, it readied Canton. In 1900 the plague was present ill every quarter of the world. The Philippine islands were in eluded 111 the march ot tho dis ease, 150 deaths occurring at Manila. The most notable fact in tho history ot the pleague in the western world was the appearance of 22 latal c;nes in San Francisco.
