ago, died suddenly last Monday, 1
June 29, at her home at Pedro, ,
in Marion county. Florida, where
she had resided for years.She was
a native o? Lancaster county and i
was 65 years and 11 months old.

Lancaster is going to lose one
of its highly esteemed citizens,
Mr. John F. Clyburu, who will
remove with his family to Hartsville
about the first of August,
where he has accepted a position
with the large mercantile house
of J. L. Coker A Company. Mr.
Clvburn has been identified with
the interests of this community

Porter Brothers, but later, and
for the last several years, with
the Williams-Hughes Company.
He is an exceedingly popular
and highly efficient salesman, as:

county, died June 22, of liver
trouble, at her home near Mt.
Pleasaut, in Titus county, Texas, j
having removed there with her

was an estimable, kind hearted.
Christian lady and her friends
here will be pained to heat of
her death. She was a zealous
member ol the Methodist church.
Mrs. Fleming was a daughter
ot the late Simpson Harper, ot
this vicinity, aud was about 50
years of age. She leaves the

Joliu, Chalmers, and Richard
Fleming,ot Texas,and Mr.Wm.D.i
Fleming, ot this county. She is
also survived by two brothers, j

As the warehouse had not

thought that the lire probably
originated from a rat igniting
a match. There are 1056 bales
of cotton in the department
where the tire broke out.

Mrs. Mary A. Lathan died at (
the home of lier step-son Mr. W. i
A. Lathan on Wednesday, June j
17th, after an illness of only a
week. Mrs. Lathan was seventy
three years of age, wa9 born and
raised in Lancaster county, S. C.,
and had lived there all her life.
She came to Florida to visit her
son on June 4th, and had been

Death's angel called her home. '
She was a devout Christian i
woman, having connected herself
with the Presbyterian church
in early life and devoted her entire
lite to Christian duties. The
remains were interred in the
Wildwood cemetery Thursday
afternoon, funeral services conducted
by the Rev. E. D. Luter.
