The Lancaster news. (Lancaster, S.C.) 1905-current, December 04, 1907, Page 8, Image 8
To the Public:
This announcement is an an
nual one, especially coming at
this season of the year.
Six years ago I came before
the public as a retail dealer in
a small way proportionate with
my ability then, and while it has
not grown to mammoth proportions
yet I am not ashamed or
afraid to rehearse the record
then and now.
So far as a living share of the
patronage of the general public
is concerned, 1 feel that I
can fully appreciate the patronage
of any and all people, and
why? In the first place, prior
to the war of the Sixties, I was
placed in the Ledger office to
learn the trade. The time following,
for many years, found
me rigidly adhering to the sober,
honest upbuilding of the
craft in my native town and to
which I loved to cling (as the
old citizens of the county well
know) until ill health forced me
from the trade. I adopted this
business as a means of support
for myself, disdaining the idea
of appealing to charity.
A liberal share of the patronage
solicited and will be thankfully
received.
Any orders left with me for
Thanksgiving supplies or Christmas
confectioneries, fruits,
oranges, raisins, nuts, etc., will
he highly appreciated and carefully
filled.
For Free Distribution
In due time will have a lot of
Lithograph Calendars for 1908
to distribute among my customers
and friends?they will
be free for the askii^;, should I
not think of it.
I can be found, as usual, at
the old stand opposite the First
National Bank.
Most respectfully,
A. YV.
