C., ( September 2, 1907. 1 , Mr Eaitor: Kindly grant rge 1 the space in your valuable paper ' ?'-The Lancaster News''?in which to give a short sketch ot ' the Association's trip to the beautiful town o! Kershaw and ot its meeting there. On the morning of the 2nd, bright and early, the R. F. D. ' boys of the historic o'd town of ' Lancaster hoarded the train for Kershaw and by 8 a. m we bad * reached our destination. On the 1 same train was the lion. D. F. ft, Finlev, M. 0 , from Yorkvdle. ( Sometime ago Mr. Fin'ey was * importuned to meet with us and give the boys a treat in the way ' of one ot his characteristic and delight ully interesting and in- y structive talks. Mr. Finley had kindly consented to tavor us and ' we were anticipating the pleasure of listening to him. O'lr meeting convened at 10.30 o'clock. The first thing on the program was the treat 1 just mentioned. Time and space * w ill not permit of goiiu? int > the details of Mr. Fadey's address. His subject, naturally, was the Ii. F. D. -pervice. lie gave a rap:d sketch of this branch of the Postal Setviee from il? in. fancy to the present time. He outlined briefly what had been accomplished and what is expected to be accomplished in this direction. lie concluded with a S few remarks on the Postal Service in general?its vast m guitude and importance. To say we enjoyed his talk wonld Inputting it mildly. At the conclusion of his address the a-so- i ciation took up its business in 1 regular form and order. By 12- a SO o'clock all work was finished ? and the time of next meeting t agreed upon. It is to be held at i lleath Springs, S. C., on the ?: 22nd, February, 1908. t Following, immediately, the ti adjournment came the most im- 1 portant event of the day and 1 that was to find some place where t we could satisfy the intense lon^- 1 ings of the inner man, who by Ii that time was making his pres- n ence very evident. Mr. Albert Bailey and family, of Elg n. spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs. I. B. Clontz. Mr. John Shehane and Miss Hat tie Mackey, of Rich Hill, were married Sunday by Coroner J/M. Caskey. Mrs. Sal lie Watson, of Ker shaw, has been visiting her mother, Mrs. Mary Beckham Mr. Charlie Shehane, the liustling hunter of this section, went out coon hunting Saturday morning and killed one coon, and then went out afier more and he and Mr. Georg9 Cauthen killed another one.
