of age. She was a kind-hearted,
Christian ladv and was liked by
all who knew her. She was a
member of the .Methodist church.
Her husband and one child survive
her. The remains were buried

home.

Death of Mrs. IF. F. liar field of
Sumter ? Died at Ifome of
Father in Lancaster County.
Mrs. Evie Barfield, wife of
Mr. W. F. Barfield of Sumter
county, died at an early hour
last Wednesday morning at the
home of her tather, Mr. W . R.
Robertson, in the Antioch section.
She was a victim of consumption
and had been in feeble
health for some months. She
came on a visit to h^r parents
some days ago, hoping to be
benefited by the change. Her
husband reached here from Sumter
the night before her death.
He has been quite ill himself,
being but recently discharged
from a hospital, where he was
treated for ail attack of rmA
nia.
Mrs. Barfield was 31 years of
aire and had been living in Sumler
county with her husband
about 7 years. She was a most
estimable lady and leaves a
large circle of Irieuds in both
Lancaster and Sumter Counties
to lament her untimely death.
She was a member ot the Antioch
Baptist church. Besides her
husband she leaves two children.
She is also survived by her parents
and several brothers and
sisters. The remains were buried
at Gills Creek church Wednesday
afternoon at 4 o'clock.
Mrs. Otis Osborne, of Blacksbnrg,
is the guest of Mrs. D. A.
Williams.
Miss Florence Trnesdale left
yesterday for Kershaw, S. C.,
