Mrs. Maggie Blakeney, wife of
Mr. R. E. Blakeney of Monroe,
died la-it Saturday afternoon,
aiied 03 years. She was a daugh
ter of Hugh W. Houston and was
married to Mr. Blakeney in 1891,
who at that time lived in Chestertield
county.

telegram Thursday night from

J. C. Sowell, announcing the
dangerous illness of tlie latter's
wife, who is now ill the Columbia
hospital, where she recently had
an operation performed. Mrs.
Sowell is a sister ot Messrs
George and James Ferguson of
this place, ller relatives have
been notified of her condition
and have gone to her bedside.
Death of Mrs. ?/. ilr. Waiters,
Mrs. Laura Walters, wife of
Mr. John W. Walters, ol the
Tradesville section, whose protracted
illness was noted in these
columns some time ago, died
last Tuesday night, the 9th instant,
of dropsy of the heart.
She was 44 years ami 5 months
old and is survived by her hutband
and one child. She also
leaves two sisters, Aliss Delila
Carries and Miss Rox? 0?rne?,
both ol the Flint Kidge section.
The remains were buried Thurs
day at Tabernacle church.
