More Cotton Blooms.
We received too late to be
noted in Wednesday's paper a
1 cotton bloom trom the farm of
Mr. A. C. Williamson in this
vicinity. 1 he bloom appeared on
the first o| July, following closei
ly on the heels of those previous
ly noted.
, Mr. J. F. Hilton, of the HoAth
Springs section, brought us on
Wednesday, 3rd instant, sample
stalks of his cotton that was
damaged by hail on June 10th,
( as noted in The News at the
, time. One of the stalks is
[ feet high, and another not so
tall has a bloom on it. The latter
, was nearly cut in two by the
hail.
Mr. R. M. Jones sends us a
? cotton bloom from Goldville, 8.
C., which was found on the farm
of Major Blalock, July 2. Mr.
Jones writes that the major has
1 the finest crop that he has seen
' this year. The Goldrille section,
says Mr. Jones, is a very fine
country.

was erroneously stated that the

church. The interment was
made at Fork Creek church in
Chesterfield county.
Mrs. Whitaker, who was about
23 years old, was a victim of
paralysis, having been stricken a
few days before her death. Sire
never spoke alter receiving the
stroke. She had been married
to Mr. Whitaker but a little over
two years, ller husband and one
child, an infant, survive her.
