A Remarkable Feat.
A Doctor Amputates his own
Arm, which had been
Crushed in Machinery.

Charlotte Observer: With his
left hand and forearm crushed
and Held firm in U?e mouth of a
fodder spreader, l>r. Charles McCullough,
a well-Known young
farmer and physician, who lives
in Buckingham county, 40 miles
from Lviichbu g, cut his arm oil

knite. Alter freeing himself lie
directed the farm hands with
hini in taking up the broken arteries
in the arm, thus saving
his life. Afterwards he walked
some distance to the house.

and the arm was amputated
again above the elbow. The fac
