Another Mystery in Camden?Business Man Munderously Assaulted by Unknown Party. # Camden Messenger: Between seven and ei^rht o'clock las' night, as Mr. L. L. Block ot the firm of Ilirsch Bros. vV t'o., was on his way home and just as he reached his gate, some unknown party dealt him a stunning blow with an iron rod, which is used on the tail board of a wagon. Mr. Block, however, soon recovered himself, and alter a brief scullle with his assailant, the perpetrator of this dastardly deed,pulled loose from him and ran. Mr.Block chased him to the corner ol DeKalb and Lyttleton streets, but was unsuccessful in his efforts to catch him. The sound of the blow and scullle attracted the attention ot Mr. Wardlaw Russell, who resides just above and Mr. J. M. Stewart just below, and they came out in time to see tlie fleeing man, but he soon disappeared in the dark. Mr. Block is satisfied that he was a white mau, and we understand that this opinion is verified by Mr. Stewart and one or two others. Mr. Block returned to his home and physician was summoned, who gave him medical attention. The scalp was opened for about three inches, but fortunately tnere was no fracture. Mr* Block was able to be up this morning, and no serious results are expect ed to follow. Considerable excitement was created by the assault on Mr. Block, and a crowd gathered 011 the street in the neighborhood of his residence, and waited lor the blood hounds to come. About eleven o'clock the blood hounds from the coin ty chain pang were brought up, but the trail was too cola for them. The dogs Irom the State farm had also been sent for, and they arrived aho"t one o'clock, but they too, accomplished nothing It was just a I it t: e more than a year ago when Mr. R. A. Notice is hereby given that the ! General Election for Representative ' in Congress will be held at the voting precincts tixed by law in the County of Lancaster on Tuesday, November 6, ltn?6, said day being Tuesday following t^e lirst Monday; as prescribed by law. The qua!ideations for suffrages are as follows : Residence in State for two years, ; in the County one year, in the polling 1 precinct in which th? elector otfers ' to vote, four months, and the payment six months before any election of any poll tax then due and payable. , Provided, That ministers in charge . of an organized church and teachers of public schools shall be entitled to vote after six months* residence in the State, otherwise qualified. Registration?.Payment of all taxes i including poll tax assessed and collectable during the previous year. The product'on of a certificate or the ' receipt of the officer authorized to collect such taxes *hall be conclusive < ! proof of the payment thereof.
