We learn that the Anti-Liquor
League, of Lancaster, will endeavor

over the matter.
The passage of the rate hill by
the senate does not necessarily
mean that there will be any legislation
on the subject of railroad
regulation at the present session
of Congress The House may
not accept the senate amendments,
and eveu it it does, the
President of kaleidoscopic views
may finally happen to be in a
trame of mind to veto the raea
sure.
The News began last Saturday
the publication of the county
treasurer's annual report.
Several columns more of it appear
in to day's issue, and the
report will be concluded in next
Saturday's paper. Owing to its
great length, it was not practic
able to publish the entire report
in one issue?hence its publica
tion in the manner stated. The
hree papers containing the report
should be preserved and the
figures studied by the taxpayers,
in order that they may be informed
as to hew the public
money is disbursed.
