Mount Vesuvius is again in a
violent state of eruption, causing
death and destruction. As many
as 500 lives have thus far been
lost and at least 150,000 persons

totally or partially destroyed.
Judge Cage has rendered his
decision in habeas corpus proceedings
heard by him at the re
cent court in Chesterfield, insti
tuted by William J. Johnson for
the custody of his two little girls,
he and his wife having separated.
The Judge decides to commit
, children to the father on one
year's probation.
