Death of Mrs. Mar// Itaker.
Mrs. Mary Baker, aged about
seventy yours, died in the mill
community last Friday night.
. / She is survived by two sons.
The remains were buried Saturday
afternoon in the new cento
tery.
Death of Mrs. Andrew Watson.
Mrs. Ola Watson, wife of Mr.
Andrew Watson, of the Forkt
Hill community, died last Sun|
day. She had been in bad health
I tor some time. Mrs. Watson
' was a daughter of the late John
Lyles ami was about 25 years old.
She was a most estimable,
christian liuly and was liked by
all who knew her. She was a
consistent member of the ForkHil<
Baptist church. Her husband
and three children survive
her. The remains were buried
at Fork Llill Monday.

Capt. S. W. Birmingham, the
well known builder and contractor,
returned Saturday Irom a few
days' visit to his family in Char

Mrs. Birmingham, who will
spend a day or two with her husband.

Mr. W.T.Gregory, president of
the Gregory-Hood Live Stock
company, met with a bad mis
hap Monday afternoon. lie was
standing in the mule lot, when
one of the animals ran by him,
at the same time playfully kicking
up its heels, one ol the leet happening
to strike Mr. Gregory on
the left arm between the elbow
and wrist, breaking about two
inches ot bone.
The broken limb was set by
I)rs. Strait and Brown and Mr.
Gregory is now getting along
very nicely.

Michael E. Ivermon, the lbyear-old
lad who was recently
arrested in Camden charged
with breaking into the postotlice
at Kershaw, as noted in The News 1
at the time, was tried Saturday
in the United States court in
Charleston. He pleaded guilty

D. C.
Referring to the case, the
News and Courier says: ? Before
sentence was pronounced by

K. Meyers slated that Kermon,
some two years ago, had fallen
from a trolley car at Wilmington,
N. C., and had injured lus
