Attention is directed to Mayor Wylie's no'ice elsewhere in re-1 lution to smallpox. There is no, occasion whatever for alarm, but, j a matter ol precaution, every one shou'd be vaccinated who is not already thus protected. Health OHioet Poovey inlorms us that there are only five ca-es of smallpox in town, all the patients'ein^ colored and reside j in the vicinity of the colored school house. Dr. Poovoy vaccinated 100 persons Thursday, ?x | haustmg his supply of p tints. He will doubtless have plenty ot them on hand to-day. A number of cases of smallpox are reported to hi in some sections of the county?hence the passage of tho ordinance by council prohibiting persons having the disease, or who have been recently exposed to it, Irom coming into town.
