Mr. L. 1J. Roddey, agent here of
the L. C. railroad company, has
tendered his resignation to take
efFect March 1st. As the public
well knows, Mr. Koddey is a
model railroad official, highly
efficient,courteous and polite and
ever at his post of duty, and the
announcement of his resignation
therefore will be received with
universal regret. Fie has been

eleven years altogether, six years
at Lancaster and five at Fort

The Hill to Require the Southern
to Ituitil a Depot at Lanraster.
Representative Foster's bill to
compel the Southern R,n lw?iv
company to build a suitable depot
at Lancaster has passed the I
House and is now before the
Senate. The hill is as follows:
Sec' on 1 That within fourj
months after the approval of this
Act the Southern Hail way Company
is required hereby to build
and construct at Lancaster, suitable
and convenient passenger
and freight depots, to be approved
and accepted by the Railroad
Commissioners.
Sec. 2. That failure on part
of said Railway Company to
comply with the provisions of
this Act, both us to kind ol
depots and time of building
same, shall subject the said Rail
way Company to a penalty of
one hundred dollars per day, to
be recovered at the suit of any
person or citizen of Lancaster
for the benefit of the State.
