moved this week by its owner.
Mr. Ernest Moore, to another
part of town, where it is to he
need as a cMtaiie. Its removal
was not exactly the tearing lown
of an old landmark, like the old
buildings that had to give way
to Col. Springs's new block, but,
all the same, it is no spring chicken,

Mrs Mary Black toon, wife of
Mr. Julius Blackmon, of this
place, died Wednesday, of consumption.
Her health had been
failing for some time. She was
a sister of the late William
Sapp and was about 30 years
old. She was a member of the
Baptist church and leaves a
lur?;e circle of relatives and
friends to lament her untimelv
death.
Mrs. Blackmon's remains wore
buried Thursday at Camp Creek
church, after funeral services
conducted at the home by Dr.
Boldridge.

into a steaming vat of mash a- d

physicians say. The boy was
feeding cows from a coal vat,
and as he watched them eat the
boiled corn meal ho leaned
against a post, supposed to protect
him from the steamimr vat.
