An Ordinance An Ordinance to Raise Supplies for the Fiscal Year Commencing January 1st, 1906. Be it ordnioed by the Mayor and A Idor tuen of the Town of Laucnstei, S. 0., in Council HKHombled, and by the authority of the same, to provide for supplies and ^ necessary expenses of the town: Section 1. 'I hat the following taxes bo and are hereby levied for the tiscul year 11) '6. that is to say: 1st. A tax of fifty cents on each $100 Ot> of the value of all real and personal property within the corporate limits of the town of Lancaster, S L , due and payable betweou the tirst and thirtieth days of November. 11)0(5, at the otlice of the town Treasurer; and all taxes due aud remaining unpaid on *he first da. of December. 19? I he charges for licen-es in any business not enumerated in section one of this ordinance shall be deteruiiued by the Mayor. , Section 3. That whenever in this ordinance the term "dealer" is used, the same shall include not only the principal J)U<, in his. her or their absence, shall include any agent, clerk or employee managing the business respectively r< ferred to. and generally where a license is herein imposed foi the carrying on of any business, and the same it carried on by any agent, clerk or employee, shell agent, clerk or en ployee shall be subject to the penalties herein imposed, should the said business be carried on without taking out such licenses in the same manner as if he, she or they was or were the proprietors of said business. Section 4 No license shall bo transferred from one liriu to another, except with a sale or transfer of a stock ot gO"ds. shop, outfit or machinery, and then only ou the endorsement of the Mayor.
