communities in Lancaster is
that of Rich Hill, [in the
eastern portion of the county.
Rich Hill has not only
recently completed one of the
handsomest school houses in the

but it is now arranging to build
a commodious church.
Mr. Robert Blackmou is having
a nice, modern residence
erected. Mr. Thomas Blackmon
is the contractor. The building
will be ready for occupancy by
the 15th of next month.
Dr. Bishop is also going to
have an attractive dwelling
built.

Government Report Yesterday
Caused Price to Advance
over 100 Points.
The Government's report on
the amount of cotton ginned up
to the 14tli instant was made
public yesterday afternoon at 2
o clock, the.figures being 7,498,
500 bales, which indicate a
crop of not over 10,000,000.
The report caused the market
to advance over 100 points, or,
in other words, over a cent a
pound. Some of the advance '
was lost before tho closing, but
it is likely that spots will be
from a half to three quarters of
a cent bitilior today than they
were yesterday
Mr. Ross Dye, an age<l citizen
of Chester county, died Tliurs
day.
Thirty nine persons were
burned to death in a lodging
house in Ulasgow Sunday.
