Kenneth Burton, Plant No. 2 spinning, reviewed the precautions taken by the
blood center to prevent any contaminated blood supplies becoming available to
the general public. Sonny King, right, co-ordinator of the Clinton Mills blood
assurance program, explains all these provisions to Burton.
Carol Howell, right, a Carolina-Georgia Blood Center medical technician,
explained the procedures to follow after donating blood to Plant No. 1 carding
technician Carroll Smith. Smith, like all donors, was asked to rest a few minutes
and drink plenty of liquids. Any employee needing blood replacements should
contact Sonny King in the human resources department.
Each employee donor is given a mini-physical before donating blood. Virginia Johnny Barr Jr., Plant No. 2 carding, relaxes as medical technician Carol
Gwynn, a medical technician, checks Larry Scurry’s (Plant No. 2 weaving) Howell prepares him for donating blood,
blood pressure to be certain he is physically able to donate blood.

Clinton Mills of Geneva employees also
found the cookware set, the Melamine din
nerware, and the Waring blender very popu
lar as twenty-five employees each selected
these items.
However, the Igloo ice chest was the most
popular single item as 31 employees chose
this particular gift selection.
Other popular items included the Explorer
cooler by Igloo — 20, electric ice cream
freezer—22, and the Regal coffee maker—
20.
The individual Christmas gifts are one of
many ways Clinton Mills says “thanks” for
