Basketball Tournament

A group of Clinton Mills employees
sponsored a basketball team in the
recent 63rd Textile Basketball Tour
nament held in Greenville’s Memo
rial Auditorium. They reached the
finals of the Men’s "B" Division be
fore losing 69-64 in the Champion
ship Game against M & L Construc
tion Co.
In the opening game, they defe
ated CRS Sirrine 72-45. Leading
scorers were John Dixon with 20
points and William Mims with 16. In
the quarter-finals, they defeated 3-
M, 82-43. Kenyon Roberson and
William Mims led the scoring with 19
and 17 respectively. They played a
hard-fought game in the semi-finals
before defeating Givings Youth Cen
ter 58-53. Again Kenyon Roberson
scored 17 points and Ricky Martin
contributed 13. The team received
the runner-up trophy and Kenyon
Roberson and John Dixon were pick
ed on the All-Tournament Team.
