Page 2 Clothmaker Attends Retirement Parties Recent retirement parties held throughout the company during recent months have signaled the end of long working careers for numerous employees. The Clothmaker attempted to attend as many of these as possible to record this milestone in the individual em ployees’ work career. Charlie Barker’s fellow employees chip ped in to buy him a rod and reel for his retirement. Assistant Departmental Superintendent Howard Scott made the presentation as Barker’s fellow em ployees gathered around. A loom techni cian, Barker’s April 20 retirement marked the end of a 47-year work career with the company. Buddy Hedgepath’s fellow employees anxiously watch him open watch box. The gift was presented him by those who had been closely associated with him at Clinton Mills Plant No. 2. Larry Hedgepeth took a “break” from his work on April 20 as he ended his work career with the company. In addition to a picnic dinner, watch, retirement cake and other items, his fellow employees also presented him with a miniature smoking booth as a reminder of those he has enjoyed in the plants over the past 10 years. Clinton Electrician Otis Graham pulled the plug on a long and happy work career when he retired April 6. Otis had been with the company since 1943. Fellow electrician D. C. Whitman presented him a gift on behalf of his associates.
