AIM is an acronym for “Associate Improvement Memo”. The EFA AIM program formally documents Associate contributions in the pursuit of continuous improvement. An AIM can be an idea, comment, thought or suggestion in respect to safety, quality, delivery, cost, efficiency or any other topic. The process requires that the Associate’s direct super visor respond within 24 hours and turn the AIM in to the AIM committee. The AIM committee will map out an action plan, completion date, and a responsible manager for every AIM. Also in July, EFA introduced the “Quality First Communication Center”. The communication center is divided in to three individual boards; 1) Safety Awareness, 2) Quality First Communica tions, and 3) Associate Involvement. The board is centrally located in the inspec tion department and displays vital feed back information including safety reports, quality charts, and an AIM summary report. Ginny McMasters turned in an AIM which sug gested the use of headsets during warping start up. The AIM was investigated and implemented within 72 hours. The successful implementation has contributed to a 40% reduction in nylon warping start-up time. Thanks Ginny. Chris Fields and Samantha Baker are shown discussing quality items at the Quality First Communication Center.
