New equipment includes fiber handling systems
PMS Tuft-A-Feed fiber handling systems
Three PMS Tuft-a-Feed fiber handling systems have been installed in
Plant No. 2 to replace the existing bale-o-matics which have been moved
to the second floor blend room. The bale-o-matic system feeds polyester
stock to the Plant No. 1 and No. 2 Card Rooms, and the PMS equipment
supplies cotton fibers to the respective Card Rooms. With the addition of
the PMS machines and relocation of the bale-o-matic, 100% of the fibers
for Plant No. 1 and No. 2 are fed by fiber handling equipment. The PMS
equipment is expected to improve the work environment and expand the
cotton blending.
The cleaning equipment in No.2 Carding has been relocated to the
second floor blend room.
The fiber handling systems have been installed in pre-existing work
areas and required minimum plant construction and modification. When
the installation is fully completed, the quality of the fiber mix will be im
proved, thus contributing to efficiency of yam preparation.
