In his remarks, Ovenden gave the students an abbreviated orientation of the financial and accounting areas within the Clinton Mills organization. The group listened attentively as he explained the importance of certain financial areas, such as general accounting, the controller's position, tax management, and credit management. He also outlined the functions of the cost manager's responsibilities. The group, most of which were college preparatory students, were amazed at the overwhelming amount of financial data necessary to operate a successful business. Students were told how each finan cial area provides management accu rate information necessary to make sound business decisions, provide information necessary for successful managing customer activities, providing essential data to financial institutions, investors, stockholders, etc. In his closing remarks, Ovenden en couraged the students, "to make sure you get a well rounded education." If you're going to major in a business! related subject, make sure your studies include English, art, foreign languages, and history. "Employers today want multi talented individuals," added Ovenden. He also encouraged students to pursue a career which would be enjoyable. "A career is definitely a long commitment—involving many hours, days, and years." graduates with company ties. We want them to know the company is proud of their achievement. To do this, we need pictures of our gradudates. Either black and white or color will be acceptable. We prefer the picture to be from your high school annual, if available, but you may choose the photo you want used. We cannot be responsible for photographs submit ted. TO BE INCLUDED in the Graduate Edition, your picture must be in our office no later than May 24. Either mail it directly to us or return it in at the personnel office where you or one of your parents work. We are also seeking pictures of our college graduates. If you are graduating from college this spring, let us know what kind of degree you'll be receiving, what you're majoring in, and your plans for the future. A COUPON is enclosed in this issue of the paper for use by graduates. Simply fill in the information and get the coupon and picture to us by May 24. High school students should give us the name of the school they will graduate from. We also need to know the name of the parent or parents who work for the company and the plants where they are employed. If the graduate works for the company, we need this information as well as the plant where he or she works. Our annual Graduate Edition is special, so don't delay in sending your pictures. We want your picture The Annual Graduate Edition of The Clothmaker will be published in June and if you're a graduating high school senior employed by Clinton Mills or have a parent employed by the Company, we want your picture. Simply fill out this coupon and send to The Clothmaker, Graduate Edition by May 24 and be sure to enclose a picture of yourself. Black and white is preferred, but we'll also accept color pictures. Be sure to write your name on the back of your picture. We also want pictures of graduating seniors who have a parent employed in any of the company's divisions or sales offices. Please list names of colleges, degree to be received, and any other information you'd like to included along with the names of your parents and where they work.
