Christmas ’88 Yes!! m There really is a Santa Claus! Santa Claus made his way through the plants earlier this month passing out Christmas candy and wishing employees a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Employees found the personal visit from Santa a welcome addition to bring the holiday spirit into the plants. Some departments erected their own Christmas tree and distributed employee Christmas gifts from this central point — adding a bit of home style family atmosphere to the gift presentation. Holiday music was played in some areas while supervision and fellow employees served coffee and cake as the personally-selected gifts were distributed. Throughout the plants, supervision passed out gifts and took the opportunity to once again express their appreciation of their employees for doing a good job throughout the year — and, of course, wish them a Merry Christmas. The Christmas season begins in late summer for many Clinton departments as gift selection booklets are reviewed and items chosen and displays set up after booklets are distributed. Once all the selections are made, the gifts are ordered and prior to the distribution, arranged in a manageable manner for ease of handling. Volumes of paper work must be completed and much teamwork is needed to assure the Christmas items arrived and were distributed as scheduled. The holiday season in the plants also brings multiple in-the-plant dinners as employees pause to enjoy a traditional meal among themselves. The plants and offices are adorned with colorful decorations, many displayed by employees who demonstrate' their decorating talents during this joyous season. And as the year draws to an end, eligible employees enjoy Christmas vacation pay and Christmas Day as the seventh paid holiday of the year. St. Ni 8 ClothMaker
