That was the theme of the 28th annual Old Timers' Gathering of Clinton Mills held in the Presbyterian College dining hall Sunday, October 9. 1983. The program stressed the importance of buying American made goods for the goo0 of America, and what's good for America is eood for us. Buying American made goods puts more people to work and as they prosper they buy more goods that we produce and we prosper. It's as simple as that. Thad Williams, Vice President of Finance, called the group's attention to a special display which was prepared by Gail Begley. Mrs. Begley, a local model and designer and owner of Gail's Interiors, displayed a high fashion dress she designed from Clinton No. 1 style 349. "Gail has worked very closely with our marketing staff, A.C. Young (now retired), Steve Warren, and our public relations staff. New York, N.Y. One dress was in red. white and blue in shades that duplicated the true American flag colors, and the other was of bright purple. He recognized 11 employe* who completed 25 years of service durir the past year as new members of the 0 Timers' Club. They were Marvin Gault, Thu man Ray Shealy, James H. Samples, Russc lusti, Ruth Bragg, Prue Waters, Jimmy Bra well, John W. Samples, Evelyn H. Scol Johnny C. Holder and Christine Campbel Six were recognized for having reach* the 40-year level during the past year.
